Poland plans to improve transport availability of its ports, Poland’s deputy Minister of Infrastructure Maciej Yankovsky told at XIII International Transport and Logistics Conference TRANSRUSSIA 2008. As of today, investments into the development of transport corridors totaled EUR 150 million with additional EUR 780 million to be invested by 2014. Besides, the ports also invest into their infrastructure which results in the increase of their throughput. For example, in 2007 container throughput of Gdynya grew by 37%, year-on-year. “Poland intends to support the development of maritime transport as one the most clear ones,” Maciej Yankovsky notes.
