China's port of Lianyungang box volume surges 60pc

Eastern China's port of Lianyungang lifted 225,000 TEU in March, a surge of 60.7 per cent over the same month in 2007, Logistics Week reported.
During the first quarter, the port's container throughput cumulated to 630,000 TEU, up 61.3 per cent year on year.
The port is aiming to achieve a throughput of three million TEU or 100 million tons by the end of this year.
