Zvezda OJSC plans to unite companies specializing in engine-building for integration with the United Shipbuilding Corporation (OSK), the company reports according to RBC. The list of companies is to be ready by June 1. The proposal to create an engine-building division within OSK was made by Pavel Plavnik, Director General of Zvezda, in February 2008 but it was not supported by OSK. Today Zvezda hopes that such integration will contribute to negotiations with OSK.
Zvezda OJSC is Russia’s leading manufacturer of light high-speed diesel engines for shipbuilding industry, railway transport and general industrial application, as well as diesel-generators and automated electric power plants for bulk, standby and emergency power supply. In 2006, the company’s RAS net profit totaled RUR 90.691 million, proceeds – 920.140 million.
