In January-March, 2008, the volume of cargo handled by stevedoring companies of the Leningrad region operating in the ports of the Gulf of Finland totaled 24.17 million tonnes (+7.9%, year-on-year), the Government of the Leningrad region reports.
Transshipment of export cargo accounted for 99.6%, year-on-year. The majority of cargo is handled at the port of Primorsk. In January-March, 2008, Spetsmornefteport “Primorsk” LLC and Commercial Seaport of Primorsk LLC exported 18.08 million tonnes of oil (101.5% against January-March 2007). In the reported period, the number of calls totaled 178 (99.4%).
Port Vysotsk handled 4.273.5 million tonnes of cargo (+32.3%, year-on-year) with 99.9% falling on export cargo. Oil terminal RPK-Vysotsk LUKOIL-II handled 3.299.1 million tonnes of oil products (+43.9%, year-on-year), coal terminal Port Vysotski LLC - 974,400 tonnes (+3.9%, year-on-year).
In January-March, 2008, the port of Vyborg handled 222,600 tonnes (115.9% against January-March 2007) with export accounting for 82.6%. Chemical cargo made half of the cargo flow – 111,500 tonnes (up 1.9 times, year-on-year).
