Latvian roads are most expensive in the Baltic

Road building in Latvia is more expensive than in the neighboring countries, as in Latvia there are notably less available resources, Latvian business daily Dienas Bizness writes according to RZD-Partner.
“It is obvious that in Lithuania and Estonia the main road building resources are available at lower prices and transportation of them to Latvia adds to expenses; also inflation level in Latvia is notably higher,” says Verners Akimovs, project manager from state JSC Latvian State Roads Technical Division.
There is also lack of competition in the branch.
