Russia values the fact that Finland does not politicize the Nord Stream gas pipeline project, Interfax reports.
"We value the position of the Finnish authorities that [Finnish Foreign Minister] Alexander Stubb clearly articulated today to the effect that Finland does not politicize this issue and approaches it solely from a pragmatic viewpoint of environmental protection," Lavrov
told a news conference in Moscow on Friday.
"Russia and the management of the Nord Stream project have the same approach. Those involved in the project are ready for further consultations with the Finnish authorities to discuss all the aspects they are interested in," the minister said.
The management of the Nord Stream project and the Finnish authorities are in constant contact, Lavrov said, adding that the executive director of the project recently held consultations in Helsinki.
