Alexander Ananenkov held a meeting in Saint Petersburg today to discuss capabilities of Russian shipyards and equipment manufacturing companies to build vessels and special equipment for Gazprom’s priority  projects in the Arctic shelf.  The meeting was attended by executives and specialists of business units of OJSC “Gazprom”, LLC “Sevmorneftegaz”, LLC “Gazflot”, LLC “Gazpromenergodiagnostika”, OJSC “Giprospetsgaz”, CJSC “Rosshelf”, CJSC “Morneftegazproekt”, LLC “Podvodgazengineering”, LLC “Gaztekhleasing”, CJSC “FNCP “NefteGazAeroKosmos”, OJSC “United Shipbuilding Corporation”, CJSC “United Industrial Corporation”, OJSC “Shipbuilding Plant “Severnaya Verf”, OJSC “Baltic Plant”, OJSC “Vyborg Shipyard”, FGUP CNII of Academician A.N. The participants discussed the current status and prospects of Gazprom’s hydrocarbon development projects in the Arctic shelf. Special importance was attached to the company’s plan to create a new oil and gas producing area in the Arctic shelf  as one of conditions for long term production  buildup after 2010.
Special priority was given to engineering and construction schedule performance under contracts between Gazprom and Russian shipyards. Specifically, the focus was on offshore drilling rigs for priority offshore projects such as Shtokman and Prirazlomnoe fields development, and for exploration projects offshore Yamal Peninsula, in the Gulf of Ob and Taz Bay.
Representatives of shipyards and design organizations of the North-West region made presentations on the Russian shipyards’ capabilities to manufacture offshore equipment and vessels for Gazprom.  The participants also discussed options for improvement of existing laws regulating offshore equipment designing and construction.

Summing up the meeting, Alexander Ananenkov pointed to the necessity to use advanced domestic solutions and technologies and  make a more extensive use of the wide experience of Russia’s leading manufacturing, research and defense industry companies for integrated development of the Arctic shelf hydrocarbon reserves.
”Local companies’ capabilities allow to build equipment fleet, drilling and production platforms for Gazprom. However, there is equipment they never manufactured, which means that they should adopt experience, develop Russian technologies and employ qualified personnel.
Gazprom will continue to work with Russian companies that manufacture advanced, safe, and competitive high tech machinery and equipment for our priority offshore projects”, Alexander Ananenkov emphasized.

As part of the business trip, the delegation of OJSC “Gazprom” visited OJSC “Shipbuilding Plant “Severnaya Verf” (Saint Petersburg) to discuss the company’s capabilities to build offshore drilling platforms, support vessels, and LNG tankers for the Arctic shelf.   Additionally, the delegation visited CJSC “Nevsky Plant” to see facilities for manufacturing 32 MW gas compressor units.
