Krasnoye Sormovo Shipyard has delivered the forth vessel built to Italian shipping company Pietro Barbaro S.A., MNP Group reports. The “Dorida” tanker is the forth of the series built by Krasnoye Sormovo for Pietro Barbaro. In 2006-2007 Krasnoye Sormovo Shipyard handed over to Pietro Barbaro S.A. tankers “Elektra”, “Klimena” and “Maya”. The contract with the Italian company was concluded in December of 2006.
Basic characteristics of the tanker: length – 459 ft (140 m), width – 52.5 ft (16 m), draught – 11.5 ft (3.5 m), depth – 19.7 (6 m) DWT – about 5500 mt, speed – 10 knots. The navigation area of the ship is inland waterways, sea Nearctic regions according to the class. The river-sea-going tanker, built in conformity with the international standards, is intended for transportation of diesel fuel, fuel oil, oil products and crude oil. Double sides and a double bottom of the tanker prevent from oil spillage. The ship is capable of carrying five types of cargoes in a voyage. Self-sustaining period is 12 days.
