Three employers' associations in the shipping industry are merging, the organisations said in a statement. The Finnish Shipowners' Association, the Cargoship Association and the Åland Shipowners' Associations are joining forces and start a new organisation called Suomen Varustamot (Finland's Shipowners). The merger aims at improving the ability to represent the interests of the shipping industry. The new shipowners' association is to have a total of 27 member companies with around 110 ships flying the Finnish flag
