NUTEP’s throughput in Jan-July up 32.1%, to 74,779 TEUs

Seven-month freight flows through Novorossiysk nodal transport and forwarding company (NUTEP OJSC) amounted to 74,779 TEUs, up 32.1% from the same period of 2009, National Container Company’s press service reported (NCC manages NUTEP).

In July 2010 cargo turnover at the Novorossiysk terminal slightly gained (+0.2%) to 9,000 TEUs. Exports flows through NUTEP amounted to 4,761 TEUs, imported cargo totaled 4,489 TEUs. Container volume includes 67.99% of laden containers and 32.01% of empty ones. In July the terminal handled 15 vessels, with average turnover per vessel at 617 TEUs.
 
National Container Company (NCC) is the largest and leading container operator in Russia. The owners of the NCC in equal shares are the First Quantum Group and the FESCO Transport Group. In 2009 the total volumes via NCC’s containers terminals amounted to some 1.2 million TEUs, contributing 42.1% to overall output at Russian container ports.
