Russian Railways (RZD JSC) and the Government of Astrakhan Region have announced they support the II International Conference "The Future of Russian Ports" to be held in St. Petersburg as part of the Exhibition "Transtech-2010" in October 2010, the Expo and Conference Organizing Committee said.
Russian Railways has confirmed it participation in the event. RZD’s representatives will join the discussions on issues concerning foreign trade shipments, new technologies improving the quality of logistic cooperation with other transport modes.
In order to provide prospects for the Astrakhan Transport Hub development, its ability to provide port services for navigation in the Caspian region, Yuri Makhoshvili, the Astrakhan Govt’s Minister of Industry, Transport and Natural Resources, has agreed to enter the Conference Organizing Committee.
