During the reporting period the stevedore transshipped 24.87 million tons crude oil, or 3.7% down from the same period in 2009. The volume of petroleum products (7.687m tons) and liquid fertilizer (269,200 tons) remained at the level of January-July 2009.
Bulked cargo volumes also dropped, by 5.4%, to 8,308.900 tons, following the decline in exports of iron ore. Other bulk commodities - mineral fertilizer, raw sugar and corn increased by 36.9% (to 1,187,000 tons), 28% (to 1.237m tons) and 3.9% (to 5.2m tons), accordingly.
Seven-month general cargo volume rose by 4.1%, to 6.78 million tons, non-ferrous metals gained 18% to 638.100 tons, timber - by 30.1% (703.100 tons). The stevedoring company transshipped 157,000 tons perishable goods, a 95.6-percent surge from the same period in 2009.
Container throughput in Jan-Jun jumped by 75% from the same period of 2009, to 241.900 TEUs.
Commenting on operating results of the Group for January-July 2010, Chairman of the Board of Directors of NCSP Alexander Ponomarenko said that the seven months results are very close to the last year’s figures, despite a decline in iron ore exports in H1, 2010.
