Export flows passing through the BaltTransService’ oil terminal at the port of Primorsk (Leningrad region) in January-July, 2010 leaped by 52% against the similar period of 2009, to 3,151,000 tons of diesel fuel, PortNews reports citing the terminal statistics. In July, transshipment of petroleum products increased to 640,000 tons (vs 505,000 tons in July, 2009).
BTS plans to handle by the end of this year 6 million tons of diesel fuel, or 40% up over the 2009’s exports volume via Primorsk.
The terminal authorities said that the situation in the Vyborg district, Leningrad region and the terminal is quite normal. There is no threat of wildfires.
The petroleum products terminal at the port of Primorsk was launched in May 2008. The first phase of the terminal is intended for export of over 8 million tons of light petroleum products annually. The oil products are supplied to the terminal via the pipeline Kstovo-Yaroslavl-Kirishi-Primorsk (North project).
