Fredericia Skibsv?rft sells large floating dock to Turkey

Fredericia Shipyard has sold its Panama floating dock to a Turkish buyer, which took over the dock in Fredericia at the weekend. Shortly afterwards, it was towed away by the Italian anchor handler Carlo Martello, bound for Yalova in Turkey on a 30-day voyage with an average speed of 5 to 6 knots.
“It was an unexpectedly early sale of the dock. The sale of this particular dock speeds up the shipyard’s plans to move to former Odense Steel Shipyards facilities in Lindø. The original plan was to start at January 1, 2011, but now we started shortly after this floating dock had been towed away”, says Thomas Andersen, owner of Fredericia Skibsværft.
The floating dock has been in the hands of Fredericia Shipyard since 1991, when it was purchased in Bremerhaven. The sale to Turkey was mediated by Klaus Heun Shipping Successors, which is very knowledgeable when it comes to selling floating docks. After the move to the Lindø area, Fredericia Shipyard will change its name to Fayard.
