Port of Nigbo builds a green port

Following a concept of building a green port, by means of using clean energies, and deducing emission of waste gas, the port of Ningbo did its best to minimize the carbon emission. "In the coming two years, the port of Ningbo will use over 100 container trucks of liquid national gas (LNG trucks) and then less emission will be made," said Wang Jinbo, Vice Director of Engineering and Technological Department of Ningbo Port Co., Ltd.. Compared with the diesel container trucks, each LNG truck can deduce discharging carbon dioxide by 25 tons every year.
In the meanwhile, Ningbo did its best to deduce the environment pollution. By the end of this June, the port of Ningbo invested over 20 million yuan to build in Zhenhai Port and Beilun Port the dust screens that total some 1,700 meters, whose dust prevention rate is over 70%. Meanwhile, the port of Ningbo takes measures to keep the sea clean. In March this year, the chemical emergency lagoon was put into use in Zhenhai Port Company, which can gather the leaked chemicals and prevent them from polluting the sea. Gangqiang Company strengthened its comprehensive treatment and processing of the ship garbage, solid waste, waste gas and production wastewater.
