The Inter-Ministerial Commission (IMC) to verify compliance of a marine cargo and passenger permanent border crossing post at the Sochi Port's Adler terminal has signed the act of compliance of the checkpoint to construction, renovation, equipment, etc. requirements, the Rosgranitsa press office said. The Federal Agency for arrangement of the state border, on the basis of the act will issue an order for opening of the Sochi Port checkpoint within the Adler terminal boundaries.
The checkpoint site in Adler had been equipped according to Russian Prime Minister order to unload the Sochi-Abkhazia road and will be operating on a temporary scheme during the navigation period of 2010.
Earlier, PortNews IAA had reported on the launch of regular sea traffic from Sochi to Gagra (Abkhazia) from August 1st. The Adler checkpoint is intended for inspection and processing of passenger boats at the Russian Federation border.
