Seven-month container trade of Long Beach is up 22.3%, 3.38m TEUs

Container traffic via the port of Long Beach (USA) in January-July 2010 rose by 22.3% from the same period in 2009, to 3,382,000 TEUs, the Port Authority statistics said.
This July, the port’s container throughput increased by 35.8% (587.881 TEUs) from 2009’s July (433,013 TEUs) and was up 13% over this year’s June.

Port of Long Beach is one of the largest seaports of the United States. Annual volume of trade flows passing via the port make Long Beach the second-busiest seaport in the U.S. In 2009 container throughput rose to over 5 million TEUs.
The ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach form together the U.S. port complex, one of the world’s biggest hub.
