Exports, imports via Kaliningrad Region up 32%, to $3,4bn in H1, 2010

Foreign trade turnover of the Kaliningrad Region in the first half of this year increased by 31,6% compared with H1, 2009, and totaled $3.36 billion, the regional government press service reports.
In particular, the volume of outbound Russian goods through the region during the reporting period increased by 3% and amounted to $ 245.7 million, while inbound goods rose by 34.5%, to total $ 3.11 billion.
 
In Jan-Jun., Germany, the Netherlands, France, Lithuania, United Kingdom were the major importers of goods, largely food (some 50%) and machinery products (15.4%), produced in Kaliningrad Region.
PortNews IAA had reported earlier that six-month cargo turnover of the port of Kaliningrad Region gained 24% (vs H1, 2009) to 7.5 million tons. The volume of exports rose by 26% to 5.5 million tons, imports - by 34% to 1.5 million tons (the remainder, short sea trade).
