Russia’s shipbuilding production volume down 15.8% in Jan-July: Ministry of Industry

The seven-month volume of civilian production in the Russian shipbuilding industry shrank by 15.8% compared with Jan-July, 2009, the Russia’s Ministry of Industry said.
According to the Ministry, first and foremost, this was largely due to a decline in the shipbuilding production at the Vyborg Shipyard JSC, Baltiysky Shipyard JSC, Proletarsky Plant JSC, Dalzavod JSC, Shipbuilding Center Zvezdochka JSC, Zelenodolsky Plant of Maxim Gorky JSC.

At the same time, there has been an increase in production at Production Association Sevmash JSC, Red Barricades Shipyard JSC, Okskaya Shipyard JSC, Admiralty Shipyards JSC, Krasnoye Sormovo JSC, Yaroslavl Shipyard JSC and Novorossiysk Shipyard JSC.

Okskaya Shipyard has delivered to the customer two tankers, building another vessel of 00216 project of 6,600DWT for AETINC Ltd. and five dry cargo ships ordered by EBV-Leasing. Kazakhstan has taken delivery of the two 19619 Project tankers from Red Sormovo Shipyard, two tanker of project 19614 have been delivered to the customer in Cyprus (one more is being under construction). The Shipbuilding, Ship repair plant of October Revolution JSC has completed and delivered a small fishing trawler, and is building another nine seiners. Svirskaya Shipyard JSC has delivered the Argo hovercraft, while four more vessels are under construction. The 176th Shipyard (a branch of Zvezdochka Shipbuilding Center) delivered to the customer self-propelled barge; The 5th Shipyard has repaired and delivered a tugboat.
There are some major shipbuilding project are underway: Sevmash Association is building marine ice-resistant platform Prirazlomnaya; Vyborg Shipyard continues construction of two offshore semi-submersible rigs ordered by Gazflot for Gazprom. The Severodvinsk Zvezdochka Ship Repair Center is implementing a project of the Arctic floating drilling rig. Baltiysky Shipyard JSC is building a floating power unit with a nuclear-powered facility, the order of Federal State Unitary Enterprise Rosenergoatom; Zelenodolsky Plant of Maxim Gorky JSC - two high-speed passenger vessels of A-45-1 Project for the SE Krasnoyarsk Center for logistics. Yaroslavl Shipyard JSC - two rescue tugboats, a seiner and three ship hulls (for export), a floating pump station – for VolgogradMelioVodKhoz, three offshore diving support vessels for the FA MorRechTrans. Red Barricades SSRE - three barges (two ships for the USA, one - for Malaysia). Admiralty Shipyards JSC is building a RV for Hydromet and completing an Ice Class tanker troitelstvo (one has been already delivered to the customer). Volgograd Shipyard is building two river-sea going bulkers and two tankers. Severnaya Verf (Shipyard) is working on the two vessel's hull of projects VS485PSV and VS470 PSV for Norway. Zelenodolsky Plant of Maxim Gorky - two high-speed passenger vessels of Project A-45-1 for the SE Krasnoyarsk Center for logistics. Overall, there are 117 ships under construction at the Russian shipyards.
Sevmash Production Association JSC produced 28.6% of civil vessels, Admiralty Shipyards JSC - 15.5%, Vyborg Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Plant JSC - 14.6%.
