The tanker Alexei Kosygin (Sovkomflot JSC) with DWT of 163,000 tons (Suezmax class), capable to carry 1 million barrels of crude oil, is scheduled to set sail along the Northern Sea Route in 2011, the PortNews correspondent reports citing Sergei Frank, Sovcomflot’s President.
Speaking at a press conference at the port of Pevek, Mr. Frank said that during the trial cruise on the north shipping lane the SCF Baltica had collected unique information that will be used for safe navigation of the Alexei Kosygin ship, to the north of the New Siberian Islands.
