Indonesian state oil and gas firm Pertamina plans to invest $600m in new tankers over the next three years. “We plan an international tender to order three tankers of 80,000 dwt capacity in September. These tankers will be used to carry crude oil,” said Suhartoko, vice president of Pertamina Shipping. The company also plans to buy a VLCC but this will not be ordered till 2013. In total Pertamina plans to acquire 18 new tankers.
