OOCL opens office in Poland
HONG KONG's Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) says it is opening its own office in Poland in Gdynia to develop its business in the Eastern European nation.
The new company, OOCL (Poland) Ltd, will commence operations on October 1, 2008 under the leadership of country manager Leszek Walkusz.
"Setting up an OOCL office in Poland is consistent with our global policy of having own offices in our key markets which ensures our customers fully benefit from our sophisticated in-house integrated systems," said Henry Wong, managing director of OOCL (Europe) Limited.
"We have had an excellent relationship with Inter Marine Sp. z o.o who has acted as OOCL's agent in Poland and we appreciate their professionalism in having developed OOCL's position in the Polish market," he added in a company statement.
