The volume of Russian export coal handled at the terminal of Port Vysotsky LLC (Leningrad Region) in the I quarter of 2011 increased by 25% compared to January-March 2010 to 696,243.32 tons, the press service of the stevedoring company said.
In March, the stevedore handled 192,633 tons of coal.
Port Vysotsky LLC operating the coal terminal specializes in shipments of Russian export coal to Western Europe. The port’s berth depths allow accommodation of ships with draft up to 11,9 meters. Vysotsky port can handle two 45,000dwt ships or 3 25,000dwt cargo vessels at a time. In 2010 the company handled 2,3 million of export coal versus 2,9m tons a year earlier.
