In 2009, the Leningrad Region Government plans to work out a strategy for the region’s transport development till 2030 as well as a long-term special-purpose program for the development of transport and transport infrastructure of the Leningrad region till 2015. According to PortNews IAA reporter, the initiative of the regional Transport Committee has been supported at the meeting of Transport and Marine Councils of the Leningrad region today.
The regional Transport Committee was also ordered by the Transport and Marine Councils to consider the possibility of including measures aimed at development of the region’s transport complex and requiring federal financing into the program for development of St. Petersburg transport hub and the federal program “Development of Russia’s transport system in 2010-2015”.
