CMA CGM post-panamax vessel inaugural berthing at Gulf

CMA CGM Vela is the first mega-box ship to berth at Korfakkan Container Terminal (KCT) totalling a 11,660 TEU capacity and an overall length of 347.5 metres and breadth of 45.20 metres.
KCT operator, Gulftainer, welcoming ceremony on the 5th wharf included the crew of the ship for the largest vessel in the CMA-CGM shipping line, reported WAM, Emirates News Agency.
Its master, Captain Cubasch praised the port's handling made easy by its intrastructure and equipment that dealt with the ship's deadweight tonnage of 30,700 tonnes, 700 reefer plugs, and a service speed of 24 knots and a maximum draft of 15.5 metres requirement.
