Gazprom inaugurates St. Petersburg based major international hub for natural gas sales
Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, inaugurated today a new office building of Gazprom Export in St. Petersburg, the state-owned company said in a press release.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony was attended by Mikhail Mokretsov, Vice-Governor of the city of St. Petersburg, Alexander Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, Elena Burmistrova, CEO of Gazprom Export, and city authorities.
The new HQ is located in downtown St. Petersburg, the Ostrovskogo Square, and occupies the reconstructed premises built in 2006. During the building renovation it was redesigned and its bearing structure was reinforced according to international standards.
“We've opened Gazprom Export's brand new and modern HQ in the 'most European city of Russia'. It's very symbolic as Europe will be in greater need for Russian natural gas. St. Petersburg is changing into a major international center for natural gas sales. One-fourth of Gazprom's Administration staff has already been relocated to St. Petersburg,” said Alexey Miller.
