In January-April 2015, seaport of Azov handled 1,730,000 t of different cargo (-22.3%, year-on-year), the port Harbour Master Vladimir Bragin told IAA PortNews.
In the reported period, transshipment of grain fell by 34.3% to 972,000 t, oil products – by 43.7% to 434,000 t. Coal transshipment surged by 51.9% to 196,000 t.
Exports fell by 30.5% to 1,056,000 t, imports – by 32% to 89,000 t, transit – by 62.8% to 215,000 t. Transshipment of coastal trade cargo totaled 370,000 t (no coastal trade cargo was handled in January-April 2014).
In January-April 2015, the port authorities registered 586 incoming and 600 outgoing vessels against 799 incoming and 806 outgoing vessels a year ago.
Vladimir Bragin attributes the decrease to lower exports of grain and transit of oil products from inland water ways.
