Lifting 180million cubic meter of sand and installing 35 buoys in New Suez Canal

Sources at Suez Canal authority stated the execution of installing 35 buoys in the northern sector of ElBallah region and western branch”Tafreea”, whereas installment of buoys in southern sector at the regions of Deverswar and Morra Lakes is going on so that all buoys installment will be accomplished by next June as they are the navigational signals for vessels’ pilotage and they are 110 in number to be installed as from current May.

 On his part, Eng. Wagdi Zaki executive manager of dredging works of the canal in press statements said that 182 million, 233 thousand cubic meter of sand saturated with water have been successfully lifted today with a percentage of 71% out of targeted 250 million cubic meter with an average of one million, 400 thousand cubic meter of sand.

 Zaki also pointed out that all dredgers which are 39 in number all over the three projects has succeeded in lifting one million, 400 thousand cubic meter of sand saturated with water yesterday Saturday.

 He added that 23 dredger affiliated to “Emirates Belgium Netherlands” league are working in the Canal navigational channel and had succeeded in lifting 131 million, 538 thousand cubic meter of sand saturated with water with a percentage of 68%, 11 of which working at western canal branch in the lakes region affiliated to “Belgium American” league where it has succeeded in lifting 41 million, 178 thousand cubic meters with 88% , besides 5 dredgers affiliated to Suez Canal authority working at ElBallah where it lifted 9 million, 517 thousand cubic meter of saturated sand with percentage 61%.
