Passenger traffic via Marine Façade (Saint-Petersburg) up 2% to 491,822 persons in 2015

In the navigation period of 2015, Passenger Port of Saint-Petersburg handled 223 cruise ships and 6 ferryboats with 491,822 passengers, IAA PortNews reporter cites Serik Zhusupov, head of PLC Passenger Port of Saint Petersburg “Marine Façade”, as telling journalists today. The Port’s passenger turnover increased by 2%, year-on-year.

The number of new vessels calling at the port doubled, year-on-year, to 13 calls.

“The berths have twice been fully occupied over the navigation period of this year. So, is was a sort of a record in the port’s history in terms of the number of passengers being serviced at a time, up to 15,000 passengers,” Serik Zhusupov said. According to him, some days saw servicing of 55,000 passengers. 

The Company’s revenue is expected to increase by 46% in 2015, EBITDA – by 75%.

Serik Zhusupov said with the cost of services depending on the currency rates, ruble fluctuations did not affect the Company’s revenue which resulted in excellent financial results. Payment of RUB 25 mln as dividends in favour of the city is expected this year. 

Passenger Port of Saint-Petersburg «Marine Façade» PLC is in the ownership of the city of St. Petersburg and is the largest passenger seaport in Russia. Construction of Marine Façade began in 2006. The port can accommodate cruise and ferry ships of up to 330 m long and with a draft of up to 8.8 m. The length and depth of new access channels - 10 km and 11 m, accordingly. The port operates seven piers. The quay-side length – 2,171.06 m.
