Snezhnogorsk and Yunga small-sized ASW ships entered the Barents Sea to participate in the antisubmarine exercise

Today, Snezhnogorsk and Yunga small-sized ASW ships of the Northern Fleet entered the Barents Sea to participate in the antisubmarine exercise, says press center of RF Defence Ministry.

The ship crews are to perform a complex of tasks on searching and eliminating a submarine of the simulated enemy as well as torpedo firing.

Having performed assigned training tasks the ships are to return to Polyarny, the Kola Flotilla main base port.

The Albatros project small-sized ASW ships are armed with artillery and antiaircraft complexes, rocket launchers and torpedoes as well as modern hydroacoustic systems. 

Ships of this class are designed for providing protection of the water zone and fighting against submarines.
