Throughput of port Yuzhny (Ukraine) up 11% to 1.54 mln t in March’16
In March 2016, Commercial Sea Port Yuzhny (Ukraine) handled 1,543,900 t of cargo, up 11%, year-on-year (121%of the plan), says Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority.
Transshipment of ore totaled 1,335,800 t, coal - 208,100 t.
In the reported period, exports totaled 1,277,600 t (+58.4%, year-on-year), imports (coal) – 174,800 t. Transshipment of transit cargo (ore, coal) amounted to 91,500 t.
In March the company handled 21,594 railcars.
The company’s throughput in QI’2016 totaled 3,817,000 t of cargo. In January-March it handled 56,875 railcars (+1.4%, year-on-year).
Yuzhny port is located at the north-western coast of the Black Sea, in ice-free Maly Adzhalyksky (Grigorievsky) estuary, 30 km from Odessa port. The port’s approach channel is 3 miles long and 18.5 meters deep. The port’s major stevedoring company is the state-owned Commercial Sea Port Yuzhny.
