In January-March 2016, the port of Posiet (subsidiary of Mechel-Trans LLC, Mechel Group’s transport division) handled over 1.7 mln t of cargo (+52%, year-on-year), Mechel says.
In March, transshipment surged by 85%, year-on-year, to over 650,000 t.
In December 2015, port Posiet announced the launching of third company’s coal exports having signed the agreement on forwarding services with RZhD Logistics. The port is going to increase the share of external client’s coal to 20% of its throughput per year.
Commercial port Posiet is involved in supplies of coal produced by Mechel Goup’s companies to Asia-Pacific Region. It is linked with the Transsib railway, North-East China, North Korea. In 2015, the port exported some 5.1 mt of coal having retained the result of the previous year.
