Cargo transportation by Russian IWW up 7.4% to 11.2 mln t as of May 1, 2016

Organizations involved in transportation of cargo along inland water ways of the Russian Federation carried 11.2 mln t from the beginning of the navigation season (as of May 1, 2016), which is 7.4% more than in the same period of the previous year, says press center of Federal Marine and River Transport Agency (Rosmorrechflot).

Transportation of passengers increased by 1.1%, year-on-year, to 691,200 passengers.

Loading/unloading operations in river ports amounted to 9.3 mln t (+16.3%, year-on-year).
