The Freeport of Riga is represented at the exhibition “TransSiberia 2016” on common stand with other Latvian transport sector enterprises, offering detailed information on Latvian transit corridor advantages to Novosibirsk business people. Mr. Edgars Suna: “The Freeport of Riga Authority takes part in the exhibition “TransSiberia” for the first time. Being the Port Authority it is important for us to communicate with Novosibirsk region businessmen and together with port companies and cargo forwarders to promote cargo transportation options via the port of Riga. Novosibirsk region is one of the largest Russia’s regions, as well as one of the most industrially developed regions in Siberia. The region boasts well-developed transport infrastructure, and it is an important transport and logistics center in Siberian Federal region. Moreover, the area is very rich in natural mineral resources. Therefore cargo transportation to and from the port of Riga might be advantageous for the both parties”.

The representatives of the Freeport of Riga and the company “Systems Terminal” took part in the work of Latvian-Novosibirsk Contact Exchange. that was organized by the LIAA and partners from Novosibirsk region. Siberian companies were mostly interested in container cargo transportation via the port of Riga.  The Freeport of Riga Deputy CEO, Marketing Director Edgars Suna was interviewed by local TV channel, providing information on the Freeport of Riga participation in transport sector events in Novosibirsk.
