Free port regime will let Vanino attract over RUB 40 bln as investments
The free port regime in Vanino District (Khabarovsk Territory) is expected to let attract over RUB 40 bln of investments by 2021 and to generate 2,600 jobs, says the press center of the regional government.
On June 24, State Duma passed in the 3rd reading the draft law On Amendments to the Federal Law "On the Territories of Priority Development Areas of Social and Economic Development in the Russian Federation” and the Federal Law "On the Free Port of Vladivostok".
Under the law the porto franco regime is to be expanded to several key ports in the Far East: Khabarovsk Territory (Vanino District), the Sakhalin Region (Korsakov City District), the Kamchatka Territory (Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky), Chukotka Autonomous Okrug (Pevek).. The proposals were developed by the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East to the order of RF President.
A number of investment projects are already under implementation in Vanino District, including the construction of Sakhatrans terminal.
