To develop tourism in the Caspian region, not only the modernization of port Makhachkala is required but also the construction of berths for leisure boats, Russian and foreign cruise ships, Odes Baisultanov, First Deputy Minister of North Caucasus Affairs, said at the meeting dedicated to the Strategy for the development of the Caspian ports of Russia.
According to the Ministry’s press center, the meeting participants discussed the estimation of construction costs and terms, possible economic risks related to implementation of the project on development of the Caspian transport and logistic complex.
The draft strategy for the development of seaports in Russia’s Caspian Basin is to be submitted to the Government of the Russian Federation in the middle of February 2017.
