Order portfolio of Zvezda Shipbuilding Complex to be expanded to 120-130 units
Order portfolio of Zvezda Shipbuilding Complex is to be expanded to 120-130 units, IAA PortNews correspondent cites Kirill Molodtsov, Assistant to Presidential Chief of Staff, as saying at the ‘Arctic: Territory of Dialogue’ 5th International Arctic Forum.
According to him, the shipyard has been ordered to build 35 ships so far.
Kirill Molodtsov emphasized the necessity to use materials and equipment of domestic origin. According to his data, up to 70% of components can be produced of domestic metal by 2025. As for sophisticated components and equipment, the situation is more challenging.
Zvezda Shipbuilding Complex located in Bolshoy Kamen, Primorsky Region, is being created on the base of Zvezda Far-Eastern Plant by a consortium of Rosneftegaz, Rosneft and Gazprombank. The shipbuilding complex design provides for the construction of a heavy outfitting berth, a dry dock, full-cycle production shops, and shops for the construction of offshore marine facilities.
The Zvezda product range will comprise vessels up to 350,000dwt, elements of offshore platforms, ice-class vessels, special vessels and other marine equipment of various complexity, parameters and purpose, including the equipment that was not manufactured in Russia before through the absence of the required launching and hydraulic structures.
As of today, the Zvezda backlog of orders numbers 37 vessels.
