Asia West Africa Trade Agreement (AWATA) has announced that its members have decided to implement their own BAF quantum after taking into consideration the operating conditions and size of vessels deployed on the Asia-West Africa trade.
For May 2008 the BAF has been fixed at US$663 per TEU. AWATA said this quantum will be reviewed on a monthly basis.
AWATA consists of: CMA CMG SA; China Shipping Container Lines Co Ltd; Delmas SAS; Gold Star Line Ltd; MOL and PIL.
