Oktyabrskaya Railway ups transportation of foreign trade cargo by 13% to 70.7 m t in 2007

In 2007, Oktyabrskaya Railway (branch of Russian Railways) transported 70.7 million tonnes of foreign trade cargo via its port stations (+13%, year-on-year), which makes 37% of total foreign trade in the ports of Russia, Gudok.Ru reports. The majority of foreign trade cargo transported via the port stations of Oktyabrskaya Railway malls on export (96%). In 2007, loading of export cargo amounted to 68 million tonnes (+13%, year-on-year). Loading of oil cargo grew by 16%, ore - 4 times, non-ferrous metal – by 3%, fertilizers – by 9%.

In 2007, loading of export cargo to the port of St. Petersburg grew by 15%, Kandalaksha – 3.8 times, Ust-Luga – by 70%, Komsomolsk-Murmanski – by 20%, Vysotsk – by 24 %, White Sea – by 7%, Antropshin – by 16%, Kola – by 28%. Transportation via Predportovaya station resumed in 2007. Transportation of import cargo grew by 596,600 tonnes to 2.4 million tonnes, which makes 3.5% of total volume of foreign trade cargo transported via the port stations of Oktyabrskaya Railway. Transportation of transit foreign trade cargo made 177,000 tonnes.
