New owner of Damen Shipyards Ocean (Ukraine, Nikolayev) is FLC West Holding (Luxemburg), RZD-Partner reports.
Norwegian company Aker Yards, owner of Damen Shipyards Ocean (one of Ukraine’s leading shipyards) sold 70% of its merchant vessels division to FLC West Holding (Luxemburg) for RUR 291.9 million.
Besides Damen Shipyards Ocean the above assets include Wismar and Warnemünde in Germany.
The Damen Shipyards Ocean specializes in construction and repair of container ships, tankers, tugboats, barges and other boats. It has recently started construction of large-capacity vessels (chemical tankers of up to 50,000 tonnes in deadweight).
