Russia increased natural gas exports 36.3% to 37.4 billion cubic meters (bcm) in January-February 2008 compared to the same period of 2007, the Federal Customs Service (FCS) said in a statement according to Interfax.
Russia exported 33.1 bcm of gas to non-CIS countries in the period and 4.3 bcm to the CIS.
Gas exports to non-CIS countries grew 36.3% by volume in the period, while exports to CIS countries fell 27.9%.
Russia imported 1.6 bcm of gas for $34.4 million in the two months.
