Oktyabrskaya Railway ups loading by 3.7% to 9.7 mln t in March 08

The volume of cargo loaded at Oktyabrskaya Railway (RZD branch) grew by 3.7% (+349,800 tonnes) to 9.7 million tonnes, the company reports. In the reported period the railway loaded 33,600 tonnes of ferrous metal (almost 143% against the results of 2007), over 357,000 tonnes of construction cargo (115.1% against 2007), over 62,000 tonnes of iron ore (103.6% against 2007), over 37,600 tonnes of fertilizers (103.3% against 2007). Loading of cement amounted to 146,600 tonnes (124.4% against plan), paper – to 61,600 tonnes (128.3% against plan), fire-proof materials – to 42,500 tonnes (112% against plan), timber to 830,000 tonnes (107.1% against plan).
