Estonian Railways rail freight volume down 43%

Compared to recent months, the volume of rail freight of Estonian state-owned rail freight operator Estonian Railways stood on the same level- 2.52 mln tons of goods were carried by rail in Estonia.
Due to the absolute record last year in March, this year’s decrease was 43%.
The volume of oil and oil products was 1.82 mln tons which is 33 pct less than a year ago.
Compared to last year, freight volumes decreased in all biggest groups. The only exception was oil shale in local transportation that increased almost 15 pct to 0.23 tons, Baltic Business News reports according to RZD-Partner.
