Throughput of Kaliningrad Commercial Seaport OJSC up 71.5% to 1.4 million tonnes in Q1 08

In January-March, 2008, Kaliningrad Commercial Seaport OJSC handled 1.398.7   million tonnes of cargo (+71.5%, year-on-year), PortNews IAA learnt from the company. Transshipment of export cargo grew by 25.9%, year-on-year, to 1.12 million tonnes including 231,400 tonnes of coal and coke (+17.1%), 168,200 tonnes of heavy fuel oil (+53.3%), 290,000 of rolled metal (-58.8%), 203,600 tonnes of cast iron (+10.9%). In the reported period, transshipment of import grew by 45.6% to 273,800 tonnes. Container throughput totaled 33,092 TEU (+6,656 TEU). The company’s major shareholders are Dork LLC (49% of shares) and Gas-oil CJSC (12%).
