The new service is intended to offer shippers access and fast transit times to the growing Middle East and Mediterranean regions.
Eight vessels will be deployed on the service. TNWA will operate six while CMA CGM will operate two. Capacity on each will range between 4,000 and 4,500 TEU, a joint statement said.
The port rotation for the MED service is Shanghai, Ningbo, Hong Kong, Chiwan, Singapore, Port Klang, Damietta, Genoa, Barcelona, Fos, Damietta, Jeddah, Port Klang, Singapore, Chiwan and Shanghai.
TNWA member lines APL, HMM and MOL serve more than 40 ports using in excess of 100 containerships in the major east-west container trades.
