Staatsolie offers low-sulphur bunkers

Bunker supplier Staatsolie Maatschappij Suriname NV. can offer fuel oil bunker grades with a low sulphur content, the company has told Bunkerworld. "In all ports Staatsolie only provides high-quality low-sulphur fuel oil (LSFO) with <0.7% sulphur, which is the best in the Caribbean," the supplier said. Its products are also low in metals and with Vanadium less than 20 ppm.
Staatsolie supplies bunkers in ports in Suriname such as Paramaribo and Nieuw Nickerie. The company is the bunker arm of the national oil company of Suriname.
It recently took a majority share stake in Trinidad/Tobago supplier Ventrin Petroleum, and the deal also includes supply provisions.
LSFO is available in other ports in the region as local oil companies are often able to take advantage of sweet crude stocks that are naturally low in sulphur. Cargoes from Brazil, for example, can have a sulphur content in the 0.7-0.9% range.
Petrobras blends these cargoes to ISO standards and offers a RMGreen 380 in Rotterdam, and in some ports in Brazil, with a sulphur content less than 1.5% to meet local regulatory requirements.
