Malaysia’s MISC and Maersk Line have entered into a vessel sharing agreement for trade between Southeast Asia and New Zealand that will be launched on June 9.
The service will deploy four vessels of 4,100 TEU capacity – one from MISC and three from Maersk Line.
The rotation is Tanjung Pelepas, Singapore, Brisbane, Auckland, Port Chalmers, Tanjung Pelepas.
The deal will provide faster transit times and enhanced port coverage in Auckland and Port Chalmers for South Island customers.
Currently, MISC is a partner in the New Zealand Express (NZX) operated by Singapore's Pacific International Lines, Orient Overseas Container Line of Hong Kong, and Mitsui OSK Lines and Nippon Yusen Kaisha of Japan. MISC will retain its partnership in the NZX service.
