Container throughput of East Siberia Railway up 6.7% to 22,300 in Q1 08

In January-March, 2008, container throughput of East Siberia Railway grew by 6.7%, year-on-year, to 22,300 including 17,100 large-capacity containers (+11.3%), the railway’s press center reports. In March, the railway loaded over 8,400 containers (over 135,000 tonnes of cargo), a 5.7-percent growth, year-on-year. From the beginning of the current year 74.9% of all containerized cargo was transported in large-capacity containers.
