Commercial seaport of Izmail (Ukraine) ups throughput by 5.6% to 1.93 million tonnes in Q1 08

In January-March, 2008, throughput of commercial seaport of Izmail grew by 5.6%, year-on-year, to 1.93 million tonnes, RBC reports. According to the port’s administration, transshipment of transit cargo grew by 11.4%, year-on-year, to 677,000. Transshipment of transit coal grew by 7.6%. At the same time, transshipment of coke grew by 30%, rolled metal – by 33.8%, cast iron – by 15.6%, fertilizers – by 7.8%.  In 2007, the port’s throughput grew by 0.6%, year-on-year, to 6.9 million tonnes with net profit climbing by 11.7%, year-on-year, to UAH 3.23 million.
