Philippines authorities expect to have initial investigation results into last Friday’s fatal accident at Keppel Subic Shipyard within a week, Seatrade Asia online reports. Last Friday a 42-tonne metal ramp in the yard collapsed killing six workers and injuring six others. The Philippines Department of Labour and Employment is already moving to complete its probe into the tragedy.
"The Singaporean owners have been very cooperative as they are very concerned with occupational safety standards...We believe the investigation can have results in one week," said Lourdes Trasmonte, labour undersecretary for labour standards and social protection.
